The Fiesta Flambeau Parade association is committed and dedicated to continuing to make the Flambeau Parade a unique Fiesta event. In 1996, with the help of the Boy Scouts of America, the association introduced propane torches to replace the fare-style torches. These propane torches are seen in only two other parades in the United States. Another tradition established was to have the Fire Fighters Association (as one group) carrying propane torches at the very beginning of the parade – one for every year of Flambeau existence. The firemen have turned in their torches and now carry the fifty-one state flags of the United States. It was also in 1996 that the Flambeau Parade broke a record of over a half a million street spectators. This record continues year after year. This parade is so popular that more than three hundred applications are received each year from potential participants. From these, about one hundred and fifty are selected.

The goal is for the Flambeau Parade to cover the 2.6 mile route in two hours. It begins with the Junior Vanguard, promptly at 7:00 p.m., followed at 7:45 p.m. by the Flambeau Parade. The idea is to end the parade on schedule so that people will not be on the streets too late. In a given year, the Flambeau will field some fifty floats, forty or more bands, up to fourteen groups mounted on horseback, and a collection of clown, notables, Fiesta Royalty and always some new special added surprises.

The Fiesta Flambeau Parade Association consists of one hundred eight members who pay dues for the privilege of working on the parade and having a great time. There are at least another two hundred and fifty non-member volunteers. The Association has been under the leadership of the following presidents: Richard Noll, Orlando Cisneros, Mary Alice Schmid, John Sanchez, Pete Ortiz, Jr., Fred Carmona, Michael Flores and James Fenimore. The current Association President is Michael Flores. Come join us... It’s flamboyant, fantastic, and always exciting. It is...
